Echo is a youth-focused environmental magazine spotlighting climate action and sustainability stories from around the world. We designed an engaging editorial layout featuring bold hand-illustrated covers and a clean, colour-coded contents spread, making complex climate topics feel accessible and visually compelling for a younger audience.
Echo is a youth-focused environmental magazine spotlighting climate action and sustainability stories from around the world. We designed an engaging editorial layout featuring bold hand-illustrated covers and a clean, colour-coded contents spread, making complex climate topics feel accessible and visually compelling for a younger audience.
Eco Echo wanted to make climate change feel relevant and approachable to a younger readership, without watering down the substance of the stories. The concept centred on pairing serious environmental topics — from climate activism to plastic pollution — with a bright, hand-drawn editorial style that feels more like a zine than a textbook, encouraging young readers to engage with issues that can otherwise feel overwhelming or distant.

I designed a bold cover featuring a hand-illustrated polar bear surrounded by playful, sticker-style call-outs highlighting key stories such as "India's Climate Crisis," "Greta Thunberg Movement," and "Green Finance." Inside, the contents spread uses a clean, colour-coded system — yellow for "Understanding Climate Change," pink for "National Echo," and green for "Solutions" — paired with bold, hand-lettered headings and supporting photography of real environmental issues to ground the illustrated style in real-world stakes.
